Burundi Giku Hill Anaerobic Washed
We've long loved coffees from Burundi for their combination of bright, complex acidity and brown sugar sweetness, and they’ve only gotten better.
The Ninga Hill washing station was built in 2020, and it allowed farmers from nearby Giku Hill to save many miles on transporting their delicious coffee cherries. They’ve also elevated their processing game, introducing an anaerobic fermentation to their traditional washed processing. That has supercharged the flavors of this coffee. The green apple acidity is even more complex and bright and is now joined by a tropical fruit flavor that reminds us of kiwi. That’s all rounded out with a honey iced tea sweetness, a terrific combination that makes this our favorite Burundi we’ve ever sold on Trade!
